QUOTING ISLAM

To help people assess Islam, this site presents core Islamic texts. So readers can verify that we are correctly presenting these, each text includes reference links. The links lead in some cases to passages in a Qur'an-and-Hadith database at a university, in other cases to the earliest Muslim biography of Muhammad. When citing the Hadith, we cite only the canonical collections, whose reports most Muslim scholars of Islam deem authentic.

Muhammad rejects religious pluralism

For example, in Sahih Muslim, a canonical hadith collection:
Book 19, No. 4366

It has been narrated by 'Umar b. al-Khattib that he heard the Messenger of Allah [Muhammad] (may peace be upon him) say:"I will expel the Jews and Christians from the Arabian Peninsula and will not leave any but Muslim."
